"When the Dark Knight falls...who will rise to protect Gotham?"

Ladies and gentlemen...I give you...Nightwing.

After nearly thirty forsaken hours, and nearly rage quitting a couple times during, I'm finally finished.

This just started as a sketch of Nightwing a couple weeks back. I have not worked so hard on a piece of mine in ages. Honestly, despite there's a few weird things in this picture (aka the shitty-as-fuck background), I am really happy and content how this turned out.
His costume is a remix of the animated series, including the awesome bird shaped chest piece and his Arkham City armour. :dummy:
Now, note...everything in here was hand-drawn in PhotoShop. Every. Single. Thing. In this piece. I wanted to do justice for him and DC.

Now, excuse me while I ramble here on what inspired me this piece:
About a month and a half ago, I started watching Batman the Animated Series after...nearly 9 years since I saw an episode when it was still on TV.
My god, that show is amazing now that I have researched a ton to understand the story and now that I know more about the characters/villians/etc.
And when I saw Nightwing for the first time in action in an episode, I had to draw him. What an amazing transition from Robin to his own hero alias. So, I sketched him out and was pretty happy with it. Then a couple weeks later leading to three days ago, right after I passed in my demo reel for school, I was listening to the Dark Knight soundtrack while I was fixing the sketch up. Anyways, one thing led to another and...well, here's the result.

Media: PhotoShop CS5
Time: 26 hours.

Richard Grayson aka Nightwing is (c) to DC Comics.
Art belongs to yours truely. :meow:
